What is the course about?

Reading, understanding and expressing the language of emotions to enhance your work and personal relationships.


What topics will we cover?

What is function and value of your emotions
Accessing awareness of your own emotions and the emotions of others 
How to accept and understand your own emotions to know what you feel as well as the cause of the emotions stirred in you

How to respond when you sense the emotions of someone else

The single most important method in responding to challenging life circumstances such as a break up, redundancy or conflict

How to begin healing the hurt in relationships and use emotions to develop compassion, self-love and forgiveness
How to use your new wisdom and skills to communicate and connect in your personal and work relationships.


By the end of this course you should be able to:

1. Understand and describe how emotions are of value to your health and well being 
2. Practice the skills that you have learnt to enhance your awareness of the different emotions that you feel 
3. Illustrate your increasing emotional intelligence wisdom to discover what others feel.
4. Identify at least three specific situations in which you can use your new emotional intelligence knowledge and skills
5. Communicate what you feel with more confidence and to begin to experience more fulfilling relationships.


What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?

Open to all.


How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?

There will be theory supported by handouts and mixed media presentations. Experiential learning exercises in small groups and in the larger group dialogue are encouraged to support your learning. 


Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?

You may wish to acquire and read my book Emotional Intelligence Test, but it is not a prerequisite for the course. You will be offered a reference list to assist you if you wish to further explore the topic. Please bring pen and paper if you wish to make notes.


Do I need to have an interview before I can enrol?

No.


What feedback will I get?

You will receive regular feedback from your tutor throughout the course, as and when appropriate. There will be opportunities for you to review your learning progress and you can expect constructive feedback from your tutor and fellow students.


How will I be able to give my views on the course?

Please complete the evaluation form at the end of your course. These are monitored and help us to continually improve our courses.
